HERVE FAVRE : What makes all the difference is being motivated!

Hervé discovered sailing at the age of 26. He found this sport absolutely fascinating. He began sailing on multihuls (Hobie Cat and Ventilo F20) on the Geneva Lake and on a monohull in Brittany and in the Solent (south coast of England).

Hervé usually likes to use his stamina. He practiced cross country skiing during 10 years at an international level, beeing twice qualified for the World Univerity Championship and participating among others to the Transjurassienne (76 km) or the Marathon de l'Engadine (42 km) ( two legs of the long distance World Championship).

Finally, the sea is only melted snow!

Hervé ran also numerous triathlons and did an Ironman in 1996 ( 4km of swimming, 180 km of biking and 42 km running in 11H45!). This demonstrates his willingnes and his resistance capacity, which are essentials aptitudes for an adventure such as the Mini-Transat.

During all his carrier, Hervé managed to marry performance and studies or work with a great passion for the sport achievements. He is now ready for this new adventure and will push his own limits again ( this make his sisters and mother crazy!)

At 31 , he is the legal counsel of Lombard Odier & Cie in London. He takes advantage to be near the sea to complete his training in solo or with a crew (consisting of his wife and 2 childrens) or by running the London Flora Marathon 2000 (in 3h45).

His favorite meal : a plate of PASTA with possibly a mountain of PARMESAN and some OLIVE OIL....

You can bet that his boat will contain quite a lot of thoses...

His nautical curriculum follows. It seems thin but in an adventure like the Mini, willingness, endurence and determination are as much important aas nautical experience. And Hervé has a lot of that to sell....
